THE SECRET AGENT lands three golden globe nominations
Kleber Mendonça Filho’s The Secret Agent has secured three nominations at the Golden Globe Awards: Best Picture (Drama), Best Non-English Language Film, and Best Lead Actor in a Drama for Wagner Moura.
Moura’s nomination is a historic achievement, making him the first Brazilian man ever nominated in the lead actor drama category at the Globes. This recognition follows his historic win from the New York Film Critics Circle.
In The Secret Agent, Moura plays a civil servant drawn into a web of conspiracy and state surveillance. The film, which reunites him with director Mendonça Filho (Bacurau, Aquarius), premiered at Cannes where it won jury prizes for director and actor, making it the most decorated film of the lineup.
The 83rd Golden Globes take place on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
